Last update: 07 May 2011
Below is a table of medium wave stations that are more or less regularly heard at my location in Kazan, Russia. It's known that distant reception in this band is only possible during the periods of darkness and dusk. All times are UTC.
The table stores my personal observations for the current broadcasting season (B10, autumn 2010 — spring 2011). To see similar data collected during previous seasons, follow the links below:
Broadcasting hours are indicated for each station and frequency, but that doesn't mean that station is off the air in other times. Many distant stations simply are not heard in the daytime due to lack of propagation. And don't forget that I fill the list at my own pace; quite possible that I didn't explore some frequencies during some time periods yet.
Usage of asterisks: *0500 denotes transmitter sign-in, 2200* denotes transmitter sign-off. Transmitter locations (according to WRTH and/or EMWG) are given in parentheses. Double slash (//) refers to a parallel (usually a stronger one) frequency.
Nationwide networks of Russia (Radio Rossii, Mayak, Radio Orfey) only broadcast in Russian. Regional stations may have minorities' languages broadcasts. Radio Rossii transmissions are time-shifted in regions where time zone differs from Moscow by 2 hours or more. These versions are called Dubl-1 through Dubl-4. They all are from time to time joined together for the newscasts.
