RUSSIA

7 Apr, R.Rossii was heard at 1000-1100 on 6030 and 13665 kHz with good quality. Also, Russian Int Radio came very well on 11750. (open_dx Victor Rutkovsky, Yekaterinburg, Russia)

New frequency 7420 kHz provides satisfactory reception of R.Rossii after 1400. But daytime frequency 13665 kHz comes poor, as before. (open_dx Vlad Ivchenkov, Priozersk, Leningrad oblast, Russia)

Where does R.Rossi signal on 11650 kHz come from? I heard it in early April at 1530, not parallel to 171 kHz. Re-checked at 1605 and found R.Rossii news, now parallel on both. I wonder whether it was a kind of a local broadcast, or simply a time-shifted version of R.Rossii before 1600. (open_dx Yuri Dymbovskiy, Riga, Latvia)

According to WRTH, 11650 is used by R.Rossii tx in Perm. This city is in other time zone than Moscow, so time-shifted version may be an option; and it also might have some local transmission at mentioned time. So it's still mysterious. (open_dx Pavel Mikhaylov, Moscow, Russia)

Well, I vote for the time-shifted version, as Perm was never mentioned in the transmitted program. (open_dx Yuri Dymbovskiy, Riga, Latvia)

Regarding the regional broadcasts from Perm: now, in summer season, they must be on the air in the week-days at 0000-0030, 0110-0200 and 1210-1300. But I do not recall any fact of airing them through the SW tx. They always went out in MW and FM bands only. (open_dx Sergey Nikishin, Moscow, Russia)

Daytime frequency of Perm tx is 6030 kHz. Very good reception here. (open_dx Victor Rutkovsky, Yekaterinburg, Russia)

6245 Radio Radonezh, 17:43-1750, escuchada el 23 de abril en ruso a locutora con entrevista a invitado, segmento de musica Coral, SINPO 24232. (Jose Miguel Romero, in DX Camp in Sacanet, Spain)

SRI LANKA

SLBC Ekala 7275 12 May 1335 UTC. This really only a tentative logging. Should be Hindi-English Service, but only possibly Hindi heard after the 30 minute listening period. I really miss the All Asia Service on 15746 kHz! (Jouko Huuskonen, Turku, Finland)

QSL

(Section edited by Alexander Beryozkin, signal-qsl Q nrec.spb.ru)

Did anybody ever get positive responce from All India Radio for reporting by email to spectrum-manager Q air.org.in, or via online report form on page www.allindiaradio.org/recepfdk.html? (open_dx Dmitry Mezin, Kazan, Russia)

I've got QSLs from AIR in 2003 and 2005. Both reports were sent by e-mail to spectrum-manager Q air.org.in. QSL of 2003 is for 15140 kHz, broadcast in Russian. Card of 2005 came for my reception on 9425, via Bangalore relay. (open_dx Dmitry Kutuzov, Ryazan, Russia)

A few months ago the most useful independent Receiver Shopping List hosted by Radio Netherlands was unfortunately taken down. The Media Network weblog (medianetwork.blogspot.com/2006_04_30_medianetwork_archive.html#114667427875103971) explains why and reports that it has been archived for future use courtesy of the folks at the Medium Wave Circle. Receiver Shopping List's new home is here:

Radio Netherlands are pleased to announce that the Receiver Shopping List, which for many years was a printed booklet from Radio Netherlands, then a Web feature, has been moved to its new home on the recently relaunched website of the Medium Wave Circle.

Changing editorial priorities and budget cuts meant that Radio Netherlands was unable to continue supporting this feature, and it seemed logical to hand over the material to a hobby club.

Although it is about five years since the last review was written, some of the receivers featured are still available either new or secondhand. We're pleased that all the hard work that went in to compiling these reports has not gone to waste

The receiver reviews listed at www.mwcircle.org/page100.htm were originally on the Radio Netherlands website. They are provided here for those who are looking for information on pre-owned receivers.

All the reviews have been carried out by independant reviewers. Neither Radio Netherlands or the Medium Wave Circle has any financial connection with any of the manufacturers listed.

Some of these reviews are also available as PDF files for easier downloading and printing. Please look for the PDF symbol at the start of the review.
